DG Environment drafts EU strategy on the environment, and takes part in the post-UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) activities of the Commission for Sustainable Development (CSD), etc.
DGXII D4, concerned with the Global Environment, has access to a budget line called B7-8110 'International Environmental Activities' [Global Environment] used to support international conferences, workshops and publications on forests, biodiversity, climate change and global warming.
The 'EU Tropical Forestry Sourcebook' provides a detailed account of the European Commission's activities in this sector, including and overview and separate chapters for each Directorate-General, in English and French.
