TROPICS contains information about 670 European Commission activities.
These activities can be identified by geographic focus (using the map), or by project number and funding source (see entries below).
The majority of European Commission tropical forestry activities are managed by DG Development, which from 1999 has takes over the development activities of DGIB and DGVIII.
Additional activities are managed by DG Environment (previously DGXI) and DG Research (previously DGXII).
In addition, a small number of projects in French Guiana are managed by the structural fund DGs. |

The 'EU Tropical Forestry Sourcebook' provides a detailed account of the European Commission's activities in this sector, including an overview and separate chapters for each Directorate-General, in English and French. |
