DG Research funds scientific projects on forest issues via the International Co-operation with Developing Countries (INCO-DC) budget line, in the context of Research and Technology Development (RTD).
Funded from the fourth Framework Programme, 1994-1998. Research funds are available for forestry, agriculture, health and technology.

The 'EU Tropical Forestry Sourcebook' provides a detailed account of the European Commission's activities in this sector, including and overview and separate chapters for each Directorate-General, in English and French.
