| Description : | |
| Objectives : | The overall objective of the TSU is to improve the ecological, social and cultural impact on tropical forests by strengthen the follow-up of the operations to promote tropical forests funded by the Commission and by developing and applying the instruments required to make technical assistance available for the organisations which implement the EC-operations.
The TSU will improve the quality of the follow-up, monitoring and evaluation of the operations which are financed through the Budget line “B7-6201 (ALA COUNTRIES ONLY) Tropical Forest” both, the ongoing ones and the ones to be started in 1998 and 1999 (ANNEX I: detailed list of the relevant operations).
The TSU will expand the capacity of DG IB/D/4 in order assure the use of funds available for the promotion of tropical forests in the most appropriate way.
