Objective : Contribute in broadening the capacity of African countries in promoting timber trade industrialisation within the context of sustainable forest management. This shall be implemented through an information and consultation process amongst different stakeholders, including producers, consumers, foresters, industrialists and investors from developed and developing
Beneficiaries : African Timber Organisation member countries’ producers, consumers, foresters, industrialists and investors
Result : Increased political, economic and social support for sustainable forest management in the promotion of timber industry.
Activities : Bring several African consumer countries to the colloquium in order develop markets for ATO countries' timber products. Harmonise their forest policy adapted to sustainable forest management. Promote the timber industry while improving environmental protection and conservation of their natural resources. Set up efficient timber federations to promote their products. Defend the African forest, and circulate information.
