Objective : To support sustainable community-based forest management in Cross River State.
Beneficiaries : Forest communities in the Cross River National Park Support Zone to the north and west of the Oban Division and to the west of the Okwangwo; Nigerian environmental NGOs based in Cross River State.
Results : Improved capacities of communities in Cross River State to implement community forestry initiatives. Strengthened capacities of the NGOs and Local Government Authorities in supporting village organisations.
Activities : Discuss with the Local Government Authorities, the National Park and the local NGOs to commit them in the programme and to develop their roles in support of community forestry. Develop environmental education/training materials for local authorities, NGO and communities. Produce local radio programmes. Provide technical support for village-based forestry initiatives. Develop a Community Forestry Fund used for activities to strengthen the capacity of the NGOs and Local Government Authorities in support of village organisations.

Afi Mountain proposed Wildlife Sanctuary project - funded by Fauna and Flora International. ECOFAC and APFT - funded by EC.
