Objective : To improve the flow of information and promote the lessons learnt by the projects in the region.

Beneficiaries : Policy-makers, National agencies, Private sector, NGOs and the local population

Results : Necessary tools for environment and natural resource planning and monitoring for policy-makers, in the form of a network of information in each country. This network will establish procedures for the exchange of information within the region. It shall provide information on the local dynamics between biodiversity and human pressure. It shall improve plannification and follow-up of natural resources.

Activities : Promote the utilisation of information on the environment in the planning and monitoring activities on natural resources by policy makers in these countries. Provide users with the environmental information corresponding to their needs. Implement primary network and harmonisation of the standards for collecting and integrating data. Implement the telecommunication infrastructure. Develop information services and catalogues. Organise workshops to raise the awareness and communication skills of decision makers. Develop and implement information tools. Draft a regional environmental report. Develop and implement tools adapted to rural telecommunication and also for civil society. Produce and update environmental, forestry, biodiversity, agrarian, rural and geological information.
