B7-6201/97-19/VIII/FOR "Forest Ecosystems of Equatorial Guinea" by NGI, a Spanish NGO

Objective : To promote socio-economic development alternatives in forest conservation by providing natural reserves with conservation and management infrastructures.

Beneficiaries : Local population in Río Campo-Ntem, village and district traditional councils, technicians ie agronomists, biologists and master builders

Results : Jobs and income for the local population in Rio Campo-Ntem derived from ecotourism activities generated by the project.

Activities : Provide technical and environmental training programmes. Set up the first ecotourism camp and biological station in Punta Mbonda, that will serve as a training and assessment centre for local people in management and conservation of natural resources. Promote in Europe and other developed countries ecotourism towards Equatorial Guinea.
