| Major objective of the project is the strengthening of the Costa Rican forestry sector. Therefore the project works, through a multitude of local, governmental and private cooperation partners, with a heterogenous target group consisting of forest owners, reforesters, agricultural enterprises in the forest and wood industry of all sizes and forest and saw mill workers. The original project region is situated in the northern area of the country but in the actual project phase advisory services are extended to other regions of Costa Rica as well as to other Central American neighbouring countries. A further financial cooperation on behalf of KfW to support the forestry sector is in the pipeline. Counterpart Agency is the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE) |
