Advisory services are rendered to the only government forest department (ISA) which operates attached to the private agricultural university in order to make an effective contribution to the definition of a realistic forest policy and to guarantee training of qualified forestry personell. Main activities in this context are: teaching, research, training and advisory services as well as development of multi-functional forest management plans. As the forests concerned are also used by the local population their participation in the development of these plans is of high priority. It is planned that KfW will participate in the activities through a reforestation and land use management project which will include a strong rural regional development component. |
