| The development objective of this project is to improve the capacity of Namibia to develop the forestry sector in the country in such a way that the sector will contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development. The immediate objectives are to strengthen the capacity of the forestry management institutions and their personnel, develop the sustainable forestry and protect natural forests of national importance. The Finnish budget for the project is 31 million Finnish marks and the project will be implemented in 1997–2000. |
