Project Objectives:
The objectives of this project will be to reverse the decline tea production in Bangladesh and thus maintain Bangladesh's share in world export markets, to create new employment possibilities and to improve the conditions of the tea estates communities. The project will be administered by the Bangladesh Tea Board.

Intended Outputs:
1.)To provide fertilizers, agro chemicals, vehicles, spares (at present provided under Commodity Aid) for tea machinery and electrical equipment and other items related to the project 2.)To provide technical cooperation for field and factory, for training including the training of trade union officials), for strengthening the Bangladesh Tea Board and other relevant organisations and for helping to work out and implement labour welfare and community development schemes 3.)To provide local costs for the Labour Welfare Sub-project as set out in paragraph 3 of this Appendix, for construction of residential accommmodation at Dauracherra for the consultants appointed to the project and for staff engaged locally by the consultants.
