Project Objectives:
The objectives of the project were to bring together and conclude the series of land capability studies which NRI carried out in Belize over the past five years. The project will provide a national overview and agricultural profile, recommend development areas, assess land unit values, consolidate soil classification and provide advice on soil protection. The physical planning component will formulate rural development plans to cover entire country planning and related research, advise relevant development authorities, liasing with government departments and with interested private organisations. The TCO land adjudication/registration expert will assist with the implementation of land adjudication law, concurrent with training up Belizean counterparts and, assist with improving operations of land registry.
