Project Objectives:
The visit was part of a project undertaken by LRD (NRI) in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature to assist the Cameroon Ministry of Planning and Regional Development to prepare a Master Plan for developing Korup National Park and its support zones. The first visit (20 February- 19 March 1989) was undertaken to liaise with D P Tchounkoue of the Ministry of Planning and Regional Development, to gather field data and consult Government and project staff working in and around Korup National Park and relevant district, regional and central government departments. Dr Tchounkoue visited Chatham in April 1989 when the first draft of the Master Plan was completed. The second visit (12-16 June 1989) was undertaken to discuss the draft plan with all relevant government and project officials and to agree the content of the final plan.
