Project Objectives:
The objective of the project is to make recommendations to augment and develop existing technologies and capabilities in the fields of processing, drying, preservation and grading. The principal areas for the identification mission for potential collaboration between British and Chinese institutions in the broad areas of industrial processing , training and research are: a) solid timber (eg building timber, fencing etc) b) wood based composite materials (eg chipboard, medium density fibreboard, oriented strand board, cement bonded etc) and, c) biomass energy.
