Project Objectives:
The objectives of the project were: To determine the status of pest or pests of macadamia both in importance and distribution and organise a collection of live insects for pheromone identification at NRI To supply the Commonwealth Institute of Entomology with a number of specimens to confirm whether more than one nut borer exists in the macadamia orchards To establish a culture of E.torticornis at NRI To collect information on trap catches from trials initiated in 1988 To identify the sex pheromone in the laboratory at NRI.
