Project Background:
To increase the capability of 1,600 subsistence farming families living in 80 marginal rural
areas, in north-western and western Honduras, to guarantee their suply of food. to incease
environmental awareness and to establish sustainable timber, fuelwood or perennial
plantations.
Project Objectives:
To increase agricultural production through promotion of soil conservation practices and
improved agricultural practices.
Intended Outputs:
On-farm agricultural production on 1,000 small farms increased by 1995.
Permanent employment opportunities for 1,000 farm families increased by 1995.
Environmental awareness and conservation/protection of common property resources of/by
1000 small farm families increased by 1996.
Local capacity of participants to become involved in long-term income-generating agriculture
and forestry activities strengthened by 1996.
