Project Background:
The Project is within Pakistan's Salinity Control and Reclamation Programme (SCARP) and will be managed by the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and the Government of the Punjab.

Project Objectives:
To increase agricultural production by reduction of soil salinity and water logging.

Intended Outputs:
Canal remodelling and drainage work.


Additional water provided for irirgation in fresh groundwater areas.


Lower water tables in both fresh and saline groundwater, thereby reducing waterlogging, allowing the safe application of additional surface water supplies and facilitating the reclamation of saline-sodic soils.
