Project Objectives:
The wider objective of the project will support the development of a Kenyan forestry teaching capacity at University level by developing a link between Moi University and Oxford University. The specific objectives: To assist Moi University in the development, by the end of the project, of adequate numbers of trained staff in the Department of Forestry in the interim to fill gaps in teaching capacity caused by the move from Nairobi to Eldoret to enhance the standard of education in forestry by assisting Moi University in the development of forestry undergraduate curricula and teaching materials with particular emphasis on a practical orientation to initiate research aimed in particular at evaluating dry zone species, soil moisture and tree crop mixtures.
