Project Objectives:
To ensure the future productivity of conifer plantations and the future supply of plantation grown timber in Malawi through the survey and selection of natural predation, development of a rearing methodology rearing and subsequent releases.

Intended Outputs:
From the main DFID project: aphids will be positively identified during 1991 predators will be identified and be reared at FRIM during 1993 predators will be released and killing aphids in plantations during 1993. A Malawian entomologist will be trained and capable of continuing the programme by 1994.
