Project Objectives:
The objectives of the project are: To investigate the possibilities of establishing a forestry plantation enterprise on Santo. Access roads are being built into the area with clearing achieved using cattle, for light bush, and then manual labour. Cordia alliodora , silk sorghum , lablab and signal grass are to be planted in different compartments (approx 20 hectares each). To renovate the nursery at Chapuis. The station site is to have a water supply, buildings and a radio link.
